To provide, in consultation with the Provincial Manager, a comprehensive support and trade union service in relation to all the KPAs to the SAOU office.
Educational qualifications and work experience:
- Appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of appropriate work experience
- Proven record of a successful teaching career and/or service delivery in a trade union
- Good interpersonal relations
- Ability to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
- Ability to handle collective bargaining/negotiations on behalf of the provincial SAOU office
- Thorough knowledge of curriculum matters
- Management experience will be advantageous

Administrative Internship Programme (Funded by ETDP-SETA)
For more informationPurpose of the internship programme:
- To provide suitably qualified graduates with meaningful workplace experience within the National Office in Gauteng or Provincial Offices in the Free State, Western Cape and Northern Cape province.
- The programme aims to provide exposure to the day-to-day operations of SAOU while enhancing the candidates’ practical knowledge and workplace competencies.
Academic qualification:
Be in possession of a recognised Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Administration
- Finance
- Marketing
- Law
Terms and conditions of the internship programme:
- A structured 24-month ETDP-SETA internship programme.
- Gain practical work experience in a professional office environment
- Will receive mentorship and skills development.
- Gain exposure to administrative functions within a national organisation
- Needs to be unemployed at the commencement of the internship.
- Must not have previously participated in an ETDP-SETA internship programme.
- Compensation in the form of a monthly stipend of R6 000.
- The internship commmences at 1 September 2026.

To provide, in consultation with the Executive Officer of the SAOU, a comprehensive support and trade union service in relation to all the SPAs to members and management structures within the province
Educational qualifications and work experience:
- Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications
- Proven track record of a successful teaching career and/or service delivery in the trade union sector
- Above-average knowledge of labour law and education law
- Ability to handle collective bargaining on behalf of the province
- Representing members during disciplinary hearings and labour disputes
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum matters
