• Full-Time Shop Steward (Professional Officer): Western Cape

    Purpose of the position:

    To provide a comprehensive support and trade union service, encompassing all the KPAs, to the SAOU and its members, in consultation with the Provincial Secretary, without being office bound.

    Minimum academic qualifications and work experience:

    • Appropriate academic and professional qualifications.
    • Knowledge of labour law and education law will be advantageous.

    To provide, in consultation with the Executive Officer of the SAOU, a comprehensive support and trade union service in relation to all the SPAs to members and management structures within the province


    Location:

    2 7th Street, Arboretum, Bloemfontein


    Minimum academic qualifications and work experience:

    • Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications
    • Proven track record of a successful teaching career and/or service delivery in the trade union sector
    • Above-average knowledge of labour law and education law
    • Ability to handle collective bargaining on behalf of the province
    • Representing members during disciplinary hearings and labour disputes
    • In-depth knowledge of curriculum matters
