The National Congress serves as the SAOU's highest decision-making body. One of the mandates of the Congress is to determine the strategic direction and priorities that will guide the union over the next three years.

SAOU SONG
During our recent congress, we had the distinct privilege of celebrating a new and significant milestone in our organisation's history: the official launch of the SAOU Song.
The idea of creating a dedicated song for the SAOU originated during our visit to the Education International congress in 2024. There, we experienced the power of a union song and saw how it serves as a strong symbol of unity, pride, and a shared vision among education organisations worldwide. This inspired us to develop a song that embodies the heart and values of the SAOU.
This project was made possible through a valuable collaboration with the North-West University (NWU), which assisted in composing the song. We are sincerely grateful for their expertise and the way they translated our identity into music.
